MOSAIC - Modular Open Source In Cabin 

MOSAIC is a group of innovators and vendors aiming to improve aerospace cabin design and architecture. At its core, MOSAIC acts as a guide for integrating different systems and subsystems, promoting standard communication between them.

Protocols such as ARINC429, RS485, and proprietary CAN BUS have been in use for several decades now. These established communication methods often necessitate specialized tooling and training for proper implementation, or they may simply not be accessible to the average integrator. Additionally, the process of exposing logs, metrics, or other valuable information typically requires specialized programming efforts, which often take place within a siloed environment that can limit collaboration and efficiency.

Inspired by the military’s innovative MOSA framework, MOSAIC uniquely focuses on the design and functionality of aerospace cabins rather than on military weapons systems. By prioritizing this area, MOSAIC aims to foster an inclusive community of diverse stakeholders, all working together to establish and set the standard for effective communication between various systems.
